Session Description
Student emergencies can occur without warning and can be especially challenging for adjunct instructors managing a full classroom. This multidisciplinary session equips adjunct faculty with practical strategies to respond calmly, follow institutional protocols, and support all students during classroom emergencies. Presenters from Safety and Security, Access and Accommodations Resources, and Psychology will share essential procedures, resources for students with medical or other conditions, and insight into the brain’s stress response—helping instructors manage both the situation and the classroom effectively.
